Ear Pinning Surgery Before and After Photos

Prominent, large, or protruding ears can have a negative impact on a person’s confidence.

Consultations with Dr. Sedgh

A type of otoplasty known as ear pinning, involves the removal or reshaping of the cartilage in the cup of the ear, and is an outpatient procedure that can be completed in two to four hours. It can be performed on both adults and children, and does not interfere with hearing.

Compare Ear Pinning Before and After Photos

Otoplasty is an effective solution for repositioning the ears so that they can lie flatter, which changes the perceived shape of the person’s face and improves their overall appearance. Using incisions that are hidden behind the ear, otoplasty is also used to reduce and improve the appearance of excessively large ears and congenital ear abnormalities with minimal visible scarring. Compare the otoplasty before and after photos to see how much of a difference this procedure can make.

Dr. Sedgh’s experience and skill in plastic surgery enables him to identify and correct the underlying problems that have resulted in prominent ears. Whether creating a deeper and more defined fold or removing excess cartilage from the ear, Dr. Sedgh will work with you to help you achieve a more aesthetically pleasing shape that maintains a natural look.

19F, 3 months post. No matter how prominent or asymmetrical the ears are, they often can be contoured using only suture techniques without the need to remove any cartilage. Doctor Sedgh’s philosophy is to preserve any structure if possible, which minimizes the risk and pain from the surgery and often achieves more natural-looking results. This is a great example of only suture technique, transformative otoplasty.

6 weeks post-op, 34 M. This patient is 6 weeks post-op from his Bilateral Otoplasty and we couldn’t be happier with his results. We were able to address 2 major problems, one being his anti-helix that was not bent properly, and second his conchal cartilage that was too prominent. We started with creating a tighter bend in the anti-helix and then were able to pin back the conchal of the ear to get it closer to the head. Combining both of those techniques have left us with a natural contour and symmetrical look to both ears.
